Sate House was established in 1997 by Tony Hee, a Chef by profession who came from Malaysia in pursue of greater adventures in the culinary world. Tony has led the kitchens in 5-star hotels in Malaysia such as Regent Hotel, Shangri-la, & Hilton previously.
In Australia, he has worked at Heritage Hotel (now known as Stamford Plaza) in Brisbane for 4 years before being scouted to TAFE at Southbank as a lecturer for another 4 years where he has passionately shared his knowledge and experience with his students.
Starting from a simple market stall, Sate House has gradually progressed to include 2 food trucks and building up a team and equipments for multiple stalls. Along his journey, Tony had embraced the challenge and stepped up to be the first ever Food Coordinator of the International Food Village at the EKKA and also appointed as food coordinator for several years with Parklife, Livid, and Listen Out, just to name a few! From city markets to major music festivals, from your local rugby league to international sporting events, from farmers market to caravan & home shows, Sate House has had the pleasure to be a part of many fantastic events and has continued to do so with much passion and effort as ever.
